McCurley said using the (DealVector) platform had allowed Nelnet to gain the required 100 percent bondholder consent far more quickly than through traditional platforms. “It made life so much easier,” he said. “The process went really smoothly.”

The tactic mirrors one already in use by Navient, which has delayed the final maturity dates on $6 billion of education-loan securities since December. And like Navient, Nelnet is working with DealVector to arrange bondholder approvals for the extensions.
