Neil Calder

Neil Calder

Neil Calder is the Head of Investments-Credit at the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development, a position he has held since 2005. He has been involved in securitisation for 20 years and in that time has been involved in investing in all types of securitisation globally, and structuring and managing transactions for the term and ABCP markets. He joined EBRD in 2005 after having spent five years structuring and then acting as the senior portfolio manager of JP Morgan’s Structured Investment Vehicle, Whitepine. Previous to that he structured and was the portfolio manager of Bank Austria Creditanstalt’s ABS CDO, Mozart Funding, which was one of the earliest to be funded through a commercial paper conduit. Prior to that he managed the high grade balance sheet portfolio of Banque Internationale a Luxembourg, London where he was one of the first European investors in global structured finance bonds. The initial stages of Neil’s career were spent in mid-corporate lending followed by debt restructuring and recovery of large syndicated loans for Hill Samuel Bank. Neil has a M.A (Hons) from the University of Dundee.

Steve Gandy, Santander

Steve Gandy

Steve Gandy is Managing Director, Head of ARCO Notes and Structuring for Santander Global Corporate Banking in London. He has over 26 years’ experience in the securitisation industry, having completed transactions in Europe, United States, Latin America and Asia. He serves on the Board of Directors of the European Data Warehouse, and has also served as Member Chairman of the Securitisation forum of AFME, where he participated in the development of the PCS initiative and currently serves at the chairman of the PCS Market Committee. Steve is the current chairman of the Securitisation Working Group of the European Banking Federation. During his 39 years of banking experience, Steve has held a number of management positions, with postings in the US, Mexico, Hong Kong, and Paris. He holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Linguistics from the University of Texas, and an MBA from Thunderbird, the American Graduate School of International Management, where he also won the Barton Kyle Yount Award.

Richard F. Clements

Richard Clements is the Managing Partner and founder of International Solutions Network (ISN), a boutique capital markets consulting company. Prior to ISN, Richard held senior positions at Bloomberg, as Global Head of Market Transparency; Thomson Reuters, as Global Head of Valuation Risk and as Global Head of the Credit Crisis Team. Richard was also the founder of Global Liquid Markets, a short duration trading system. He has a Bachelor’s in English from the University of San Francisco.

Ian Bell, Head of PCS Secretariat

Ian Bell

Ian Bell is the Head of the PCS Secretariat. Previously, Ian served as Head of Structured Finance for Europe, Africa and Middle East for Standard & Poor’s from 2005, and ran the S&P securitisation business until 2010. He joined S&P as European General Counsel in 1999. He practiced law at Clifford Chance from 1987-99, becoming a partner in 1996. Ian studied at the London School of Economics, University of London (1981-1984), the University of Strasbourg, and Yale Law School (LLM).

Jon Stiklorius

Jon recently retired as a partner at Marvin & Palmer Associates, a global equities hedge fund, where he spent 25 years running marketing and client contact. Jon was instrumental in the launch of the fund, contributing substantially to its growth to a high of $16B AUM. Prior to Marvin & Palmer, he worked as Vice President of Institutional Sales for First Boston. Jon brings over 40 years’ experience to DealVector in selling financial services to asset managers. Jon holds an MBA from The Wharton School and a BA from the University of Pennsylvania.

Sameer Merchant

Sameer is VP of Mobile Commerce at Opera Software. Prior its acquisition by Opera he was CTO and Co-founder of AdMarvel, where he was responsible for the technical architecture and infrastructure required to optimize the sourcing, provisioning and management of billions of mobile ad impressions per month. Sameer began his career at Verisign, and brings to DealVector years of deep experience designing, implementing and deploying highly scalable security, payment, messaging and digital content services. Sameer holds an MS from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and a BE from the University of Pune.

Jim McCarroll

Jim is the Global Chair of Reed Smith’s Investment Management Group. He also is a partner in the firm’s Commercial Restructuring & Bankruptcy Group, and the Financial Industry Group. Jim represents hedge funds, funds of hedge funds, institutional investors, and other alternative investment-focused entities in connection with investment analysis, decision making and disputes; regulatory and compliance needs; restructuring and wind-down. He has particular expertise in distressed and event-driven investment strategies, and alternative investment disputes, including those centering on CDOs, CLOs, SIVs, and other structured products. Jim holds a JD from Boston University School of Law and a BA from Skidmore College.

Frank Iacono

Frank is a Managing Director at CMRA and a Partner at Riverside Risk Advisors. He has extensive experience with derivatives and structured products as a consultant, structurer, trader and manager. Frank was the founding CEO of Cournot Financial Products LLC (“CFP”), a AAA rated Credit Derivatives Product Company sponsored by Morgan Stanley. CFP was a highly-successful seller of protection on senior tranches of synthetic CDOs, seen by many as “best in class.” Frank also led CFP’s highly successful sale. Frank holds a JD from Harvard Law School and a BA from Yale University.
